Most people play on both sites. Almost everyone has heard of lichess.

Lichess is better than chess.com for free to play players. But if you went premium on chess.com to have access all of its perks, its superior on almost everything.

both of them have their own perks 
chess.com has more variants and better rating system
but i also overall prefer lichess 
lichess has better ui and is completely free lichess also has better servers

I use chess.com to play chess games and lichess for online chess classes on zoom

lichess is better if you feel the need to inflate your ego by saying you are 1600 instead of 900. it also does not have those foolish cartoon characters designed to appeal to the fortnite generation. but chesscom is more polished and offers better quality paid content

It's ok, but goes 'bwoo woo woo woo woo.' I play absolute rubbish there as a guest for giggles. Bongcloud anyone?
