Does display form factor affect your play?

I've played 99% of my games on my 13" laptop.  2 months ago I bought a 27" 4K monitor.  It was beautiful to play on such a screen.  My rating dropped 1300 to 1200 over the course of a short amount of time.  I was missing obvious and subtle things.  I think it had to do with the increased size of the board.  First, obviously is it took longer to move the mouse from piece to piece.  But mainly my field of vision was lower on the edges of the board.  It simply takes more time to process the board in my mind.  Or if I need to play faster, I don't have the time to scan properly.

Is this a real thing or am I making excuses for bad play?  Have other people experienced this?  I wonder if it happens the other way around, big screen -> small screen.

I have changed the way I size the board now to make it about 2/3 to 1/2 of previous full-screen that I played on for 2 months.

If you play OTB chess after not playing for a long time, it's worse.

That being said, it doesn't take long to get used to looking at real chessboard again.
