I’ve been trying to fix one consistent issue in my games: blundering under pressure.
Even after solving puzzles regularly, I noticed that in real games I still make avoidable mistakes.
So I tried something different using a smart chess database.
Instead of solving puzzles normally, I gave myself a rule:→ I’m only allowed 4 mistakes per run→ If I exceed that, I restart
It feels very different from normal puzzles:
You can’t just guess moves
You’re forced to slow down
It feels closer to real game pressure
I’ve been testing this for a bit and it’s surprisingly challenging.
I put together a small version of this mode here if anyone wants to try it: https://chess.bunnyfiedlabs.com/
Also added an option to connect your account to analyze your games and spot where blunders happen most often.
Curious what others think:
Do puzzles actually help with blunders?
Would limiting mistakes like this improve consistency?
Would love to hear how you train this.
I think puzzles helps you alot, they make you think about the best move even when situation feels to be equal
