I don't know. However, I am sure that chess helps in math, but i don't know if the opposite is true. If yes, then it is an infinite improvement loop.
I think there is a lot of correlation between chess and mathematics. In complex games often the player who can calculate better will come out on top.
I’ve been wondering if math helps in chess. I mean Angles and Degrees help directing the pieces, but do you need to know that?
