No mate - don’t only play weaker players, but it’s absolutely fine to do. Otherwise chess streamers wouldn’t go and do rating speed runs!

not necessarily no. They are your friends it's just a game to be fair.
Playing with weaker players make u bad at chess as tou get used to weak moves and the brain forgets how to calculate accurate moves.

to answer more directly though, i think it is fine to play lower rated, but probably not toooo much -- as others have observed, that may leave your mistakes unexposed. i've known people who play against lower rated players, but they play against their level too, and it seems to be fine
that said, playing against them in the way you described hardly sounds like a good idea.
