Does the site keep bots playing against humans?

Oh great, now everyone on chess.com has a chance of becoming a bot?

Low rated bot are now humans,the bots are taking over

This is really annoying. Bots are obvious, most of the times the consume the time playing stupid moves. Please stop it. It is better to wait for a human available.

The site doesn't use bots for Live or Daily play, only in Play > Computer 

The OP is a hundred percent correct.  Why would you have to worry about other people cheating when the site itself does it to you? It's very obvious when you are given unwinnable games with the same lines and engine time regardless of how complex the position gets.  3 Mississippi auto recaptures,  mainlines, crooked time clock endings...the list is endless.  All of my opponents archives look the same they get to the same high level and then suddenly lose 12 in a row as if they'd forgotten how to play so completely obvious it's all fake games the people who don't think so are literally not strong enough to even ever know. the whole method is unethical, underhanded and intentionally crosses the line of criminal negligence. All met with lies based on plausible deniability.  Clocks being set back to zero at the end of the game, b.s. timestamps, deflection of blame on your web connection, martin stahl himself.  Analysis is all fake designed to obfuscate and confuse you into creating less work for the so-called cheat team Whomever approved it is an ungodly evil doer.  

Not only do they use bots, their ai smells bad miles ahead of their moves. Most of the times the ai consumes all their time playing randomly. If you have not noticed that, go watch blade runner and come back. I even tried accusing them for being bots and i got guess what? No response...

Most people don't chat. When I play, I'm on mobile web and don't even see the chat on screen and don't look at it. 

I am not sure why this makes you think they are using bots. You have no solid evidence that this is true. And as @Ziryab says "Comparing sites is fraught with difficulties. Ratings will differ.  At another site where the ratings are allegedly inflated, compared to chess.com, my own rating tends to run several hundred points below what it is here. At still another site, one that completely lacks any evidence of cheat detection, a 1600 whom I played a few days ago played more like a 2400." 

What? Why do you think everyone would respond to being called a bot? Have you every tried focusing on a game before?No?

at least bots don't accuse you of cheating just because you've won a few blitz and bullet games against weak players with high accuracies. human players are full of envy and prejudice

Definitely uses bots, there's a cluster around 1200 rated for sure. Once you get over about 1250 there are fewer bots and it's easier IMO. 

Speaking from the point of view of a programmer who has written bots for other chess servers, bots are usually poor at emulating lower levels of players as they'll just restrict depth or time to reach a move which means they won't miss M1 or M2 scenarios with an obscured checkmate where a human might. They'll also usually play book moves on opening which again is unlikely for a 1200 player. Another sign is that I'll often try a new line of off book openings which work for a while then after a few games you'll notice all these players mysteriously begin avoiding the trap as if they've somehow collectively become aware of it

IMO Chess.com should stop using bots or allow users to flag no bot play. At the very least each bot should have a unique adaptive learning instance so you can trip them up with the off book trick but this would expensive in memory terms on a server I guess.

I'm sure they were a great way to ensure enough players on the site in the early days but it's now the most established site in the world and bots are skewing ratings so get rid of them or allow users to opt out.

In the meantime the simplest way to deal with this nonsense is to block any suspected bots.

Even against confirmed cheaters, I never had the impression I'm playing against a machine. Maybe I'm just daft? But either way, I just play my game and don't care all that much about my opponent.

 At your blitz rating, the cheats you play are not very good at it.

They don't exist, at least not site ran ones; there's nothing to opt out of so ...

There used to be bots in Live and they were clearly marked as such, weren't in the random pools, and were removed from live.
