DRAW??

Im playing black and even though I have the King boxed in theres several other moves White could play but the game ended in a Draw .. I thought if there were other plays to be made that you could not draw just because of the same 3 moves...

I realize that but I thought it 3 when no other moves were available

No, once the third repetition is reached, it automatically draws. OTB, the draw can be claimed at that point.

It does not have to be "forced moves" with no other option available (although it can be).

 

And to add, it's threefold repetition of positions, rather than moves.
