Well Mr. Bond, I'm afraid you're wrong. Thanks for your post, but if you look at my recent games, I worked out you can call a draw on a rated game and as long as you're only a few moves in, neither side actually loses rating points.

I'm pretty sure tournament games don't have the same allowance as non-tournament games. If you draw early on, even after one move, ratings will change.
Huh, that's interesting to know Martin, I haven't had a chance to experiment with tournement games, but I'd be interested to find out.
Just looking for advice, I've trawled the forums but can't find anything.
As a way of ending a tournament without being penalised, is it possible to offer a draw early on in the game (at the start even, or before a certain number of moves have been made) and if the draw is agreed upon, will there still be the rating change (loss/gain depending of course on ratings)?
