Not only that (responding to a thread from 6 years ago) BLACK HAD NO WAY TO GET OUT OF IT. White even has time to go capture the pawn and come back and mate Black with his Bishop and Knight, all within the 50-move limit, if he knows what he is doing. You can find the technique in a lot of endgame books' section on basic checkmates, and then test it out here: http://www.chessvideos.tv/endgame-training/bishop-knight-checkmate.php
Any and all replies to this thread claiming that Black can save his game are idiotic. The puzzle may be flawed, but this is a known theoretically won ending by checkmate for White.
