Dumb question? There's no dumb questions, only dumb answers. :)

There is no such thing as a dumb question. Just dumb people asking questions.

(This is not directed at the OP, it's just a saying I heard once.)

You could always just click the piece and the destination square instead of dragging the piece.

Put the piece on top of one of your own pieces and it will go back to the original square. Do you really call it a mouth?

Or the opponent's king, at least that's what I always do.

I think he meant "mouse"  He has little rodents move his pieces

Or maybe he has no arms and he has to use his mouth.  I can imagine, in time trouble, the board and pieces could get pretty slick with saliva.

Thanks everyone. I had an accident that year that resluted in a slight brain injury that causes occasional memeory problems so this was becoming an issue for me.  But got the answers I needed.  Move piece of side of board or drop on top of one of you existing pieces. That worked.  Thanks.

Now for even a dumber question to to show everyone that we all can't be Einstein, what the heck does "OP" mean?   I saw that twice is this thread.

 OP-  opening post.

 Edit:  Pretty quick,   MSC157.  Smile

Depending on the topic, I might mean orclike poster.

Have to read "OP" in context.  Sometimes "original poster" and sometimes "opening post."

ITT, OP definitely means 'original poster'. :)

And now that we're warmed up, we're ready for your dumbest question.

You had to make me go and look.  Smile  I didn't know it could have so many different meanings.

Ouch, neither did I. I only know *this* one. :)

Ok....sometimes when I move a piece to a new position but have not yet released my mouth, meaning I can still take back move, realizing it wasnot the best move, how can you figure out where the piece was before you moved it.  Sometimes, I will move a light squared bishop to a dark square because the software will automatically put the piece back in the correct position.   I have lost a few games because when I put the piece back to the position I thought it was from, it actualy was one square away and the software thinks that was my final move.  I blow a great game and 15 minutes of chess because of something so stupid.  Told you this was a dumb question.  I guess I am dumb. But I am cool with that.  Better than being both dumb and ugly.

Why r u moving pieces with ur mouth?

Meant my mouse Laughing

I sure did Jamie.  Thanks for checking in.

my way to solve that is drag the piece out of the board then release. Returns to its spot. Had the same thing happen. One lost my queen and the game

Avatar of Xaendro

hey, I always dropped them on my own pieces, but now that I read this thread I'll always realease on the enemy king.

Who knows, maybe this time my pawn will finally make that extra effort to go a few squares further and catch the king, it would be worth the effort. The lazy bastards.
