Dumb Question

Whatever happens behind-the-scenes with the staff has never had an effect on me as a member of this website, and I've been here nearly five years. So, I don't know how it could have an effect on your choice to play chess and share your thoughts in the forums?

Thank you. If this is the common sentiment (which I hope), then I will most likely stay here.

Dr. Spudnik, everywhere on the internet, especially blogs and websites. Also, various chess players I know like to spread rumors, which doesn't help much

Ronald, thank you too for your comment.

I also hear lots of good things, which is mainly why I'm so interested. It seems the consensus agrees with what trysts said!

Its like the military, or a marriage or driving. Once you learn your way around the block, then the neighborhood, then the interstate. Take your time. Like chess; things are not what they allways appear to be. I have no computer skills, and belong to no other sites, so I can't compare this to anything.

TheLegoBanana

do you mean, like just play chess and stay out of the forums for a while?

The forums are like a minefield. You have to be careful WHERE you walk. The've been here longer than you. Some members have their own threads, and you just don't derail them.

"Evereywhere"! What a load of crap. Just saying "everywhere on the internet" doesn't actually give a site or link or anything. This entire thread is just another tiny piece of the JohnnyMushhead noise machine.

Yeah I guess your right. Stay out in terms of posting for awhile (2 weeks). But look at them, read them, they can be a chess game in themselves. Sometimes you have to take notes, in terms of names, times, wheather the post was CONstructive, or DEstructive. The same names pop up. The problem comes for members and staff; multiple accounts, banned members, different IP addresses, etc.  There's an ebb and flow to the forums. Somtimes you can't even say hello, without getting beat up. Othertimes thee's not a trool in site for miles.
