This is only somewhat related, but worth mentioning: if you let a <2000 rated bot pummel you for a while (or just get destroyed by it, period, even though you are really trying), it will eventually become totally braindead and practically throw the game. I'm not sure if this can happen at 2000+, but I'm assuming it doesn't because I've never seen it occur up there.
