Embrace Losing

I really, really try to embrace the losing part, it's not easy. I understand the concept, I just split 4 games, had a really good time playing. Yes its more fun and I hope I can get "there" some day. I tell myself, win or lose, just enjoy, but it doesn't always work out..

You must play to learn and remember many of the greats have lost many, many times over but no one pays attention to that. You must learn to love the game, winning is only part of chess but the love for the game, that is the best thing you can achieve, the LOVE for this game. We all lose but in the same breath winning is part of that but if you do not have a lovs for chess you will not have the enjoyment that many of us have. Go teach a young kid to play, that will teach you what I am talking about....that innocence in that childs eyes, as they look, listen and ultimately learn the game of chess!

I appreciate your positive comments and outlook.  I was just curious why you only play 1/0 games.

I don't just play 1/0 games.  But the honest truth is I believe there are just a lot of cheaters.  In the few standard games I've played I've got 2 people's accounts banned for cheating...which is a high percentage.

I just don't like playing computers when I come online to play humans.  1/0 chess seems to not have this problem.

I agree that it is harder to cheat at 1/0 chess.  I have found that I really don't care if other players cheat.  It is no different than me playing against the computer in my ChessMaster 9000 game.  If you cheat at a game I am really out nothing.  I play on this site so that I can beat my brother-in-law at Thanksgiving and Christmas  :)

I have found that 1/0 chess requires much different chess skills than OTB or turn based chess.  A 2000 1/0 chess player is much different than a 2000 OTB player.

Actually a real master has mastered every type of chess.  Look at Carlsen...best in the world (rating wise) and also top quick player.  Same goes for a master of any skill.
