I received my copy of the Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations, 5th ed. (2014) last week. Here's a position from the book: http://chessskill.blogspot.com/2015/03/sacrifice-everything.html.

That photo was taken with my old iPhone 5 that had some dirt inside the lens. It was replaced several times since that photo was taken. This was taken with my iPad Air just now.

Is it related to yhe book "encyclopedia of middlegames" of 1980?

how does this book compare with Lazslo Polgar's "5334 puzzles combinations and games?". which one is more "complete" (as though there is such s thing)?

Polgar’s book has 600 miniatures with sacrifices on specific squares. 100 with sacrifices on h7/h2, 100 on g7/g2, and so on. Most of the rest are composed mate in twos bracket by a few hundred each mate in ones and mate in threes.

Encyclopedia of Chess Combinations consists almost entirely of positions from games with tactical shots organized by themes.

I bought encyclopedia of chess combinations on my coaches advice. Love it! I bought the 6th edition which uses chess base as the interface.
