Ends in 8 days....

I recently saw a league which ends in 8 days, even though the website only creates a new league every 7 days... Could you explain why?

Divisions that start on or after Friday end the Sunday a week later.

Why does it do so? Shouldn't it be ending on the day it started, a week later?
