Very often a player calls another "coward" for not accepting a rematch invitation. This should be discouraged in this wonderful chess site. What do you know about the other player's situation, wether he has other things to take care of, or it´s just late and has to go to bed? If I told you before the game that this is going to be the only game I'll be able to play, regardless of the outcome, would you still play?

AlCzervik

I would. In fact, it wouldn't matter one iota if we played and I offered a rematch and you didn't accept.

Those that declare others cowards for not accepting a rematch probably have deeper issues.

I appreciate your answer. Thank you!

I agree 100%. Sometimes I just want to play one chess game, and if I win I usually stop for the night. Also I never do good playing two games in a row and often lose.

I feel exactly the same as RedBishop. Also, sometimes I might play very long games e.g. 90|30, and 2 of those back to back really tire you.

I don't like playing two games in a row. I'd never accept a rematch.
