fake rating in chess.com

i used to play blitz in fics server and there are very good players and i have never beat 1800+ rank player and iam ranked there 1700(highest)

but in this server

i can beat 2000 ranked player easily

my rank here is 1850

the level here is very low

i cant believe high ranked players play that low

plz make the rank system more realistic

rating is like currency. you can make 1,000 easier in some countries than others.. it doesnt mean its worth more. chess ratings are apples to apples not apples to oranges. all it can tell you is how good you are compared to someone on THIS site.

find the level youre at and then just play better players for the challenge.

Just logic:  If you can beat 2k+ 'easily' then why are you merely 1850?  I'm sure even Einstein had diarrhea sometimes!

I've had the opposite experience. I've beaten 1600+ players on FICS but have struggled at 1400 on Chess.com. I thought it was because the starting point on FICS is 1700 and on C.com 1200 but perhaps that's incorrect. And does it matter anyway? Just find your level and try to play people a bit better.

When you go to 'live chess' page you can click on 'players' tab and click on 'blitz'tab so you can sort them ratingwise.

I would say that on sites like FICS most cheaters of strength > 1500.

Fics Chess sucks

I started to play FICS chess and im quite good(My name:Velickovic Dragan Master Candidate 2090 FIDE elo http://www.sah-centralnasrbija.com/2010/ligacssever2010/games_ligasever2010/rejting.HTM), but after 10 games I only won 1, I even lost to a 14 year old girl, then the paople in the chat told me that everyone uses programs the play for then!!!!
MAM I spent the next 20 mins slaging them all off , the dumb fuckers. i mean what is the point in playing if you use programs , you got to use your brain man thats what is all about. i dont understand it I will never play online FICS chess again

 I've played on several online sites, FICS, Chess.com and ICC. Chess.com and ICC seem to be the more reliable when it comes to ratings. Where Chess.com excells is the user interface, very user friendly. I was a bit skeptical of Chess.com for a while as my turn based rating went up to over 1870 (I'm not close to that in real strength); but as I played more games it has settled around 1650 (where I used to be when I played in USCF tourneys.) Ratings are just markers to give you a general idea of strength, you still have actually play the game. Some days you are better than your rating some days not so much.
