I have been on this site for over 7 years and have never been accused of cheating.

TyroLoco, it's too bad that people trash talk a lot on the internet. Only a lowlife would resort to name calling and cursing.

Post the game against the 846

I am not sure how to post a game ? anyone ?

You blundered.

He blundered earlier.

That's the reason you lost.

It was a poor game overall, I mean its blitz I'm even worse. He may have simply gotten lucky with some of his advanced moves, but now and then people will go low to get in a lower section, but why all the way to 800? If he wants to play <1200, then he could just become 1100 or so. So it depends, there are some people out there, but this guy didn't seem like it.

Avatar of berbtheherb

He could've been really good at chess, but didn't play a ton of rated games, which would explain the low rating...

Avatar of MNMSkyBlue

I suck so please dont start complaining... almost all of my losses were legit, and i lost against someone of the same rating as that 900 in a 10 minute game lol

And by the way, logic. If you fake a low rating, obviously its not because you're trying to win. Its supposed to be to show off that he beat a GM at 900 rating but usually that ends in suspension from engine reports... and you're no GM (not in a mean way) so what's the point of winning a game if you're gonna fake a low rating? no point. There could've been more wise ways of posting this thread.

Well I found your comment a bit confusiing to be honest, but I do agree that it makes no sense to fake a low rating ... so why do people do it ?? To surprise the heck out of their opponent ? what's the attraction there ?

Why did you assume he was faking in the first place? Maybe his 1800 rated brother played for him.

Sorry if i missed something in the past few pages, because i got a bit bored reading them. I reckon these players dont play much on chess.com and may have improved outside of chess. I lost a few games of live chess when i first signed up. Then i played alot after a while. My point is that at these levels of rating, you can't really tell the difference between a 1000 and a 1100. This also occurs to 800-900 ratings

Reading the forum posts could be dangerously addicting because so many of those who post here are brilliant, clever and amazingly entertaining.  This is a compliment to all of you. Some of you have a markedly higher rating in conversational witticism and logic than others, but .... reading your comments back and forth is like watching a chess tournament only its enjoyable in another way and other dimensions than the 2D or 3D chess boards.

Just saying this because I want each and everyone of you to know that those of us who might not necessarily participate in a forum thread and send our own comments and replies richocheting around with whinging sounds (to the person who criticized another for misspelling - whinging is a real word) - your comments and written thoughts and opinions are greatly appreciated and are a part of why this is such a great website.

There's too much peyote in your avatar's desert, and the OP got a hold of some ?

What a fricken' game he posted.  Those Tal-like tactics almost make you go blind.

At first, I thought the comment about peyote was a puzzling non-sequitur but then it occurred to me that the Zborg might have made the mistaken assumption that the letters and word "High" in my user name refer to being high on drugs.

To the contrary, the word "High" refers to its most common and literal usage of height, elevation.  I chose the username because I like the local desert region and because its elevation of around 2,800 feet makes it high desert compared to where I lived before moving to this area.  Before coming here, I live in a desert area that was just barely above sea level, which is about as low as you can get desert-wise.  The winters in the low desert were what most people would consider warm and sunny but the summers got up to temperatures most people would consider beyond-hot.  The hottest I ever personally experienced in the low desert was 131 degrees F.  I rejoice to be in the high desert because it seldom gets above 110 degrees in the summer and, because of its high elevation, the night temperatures cool down much more than did the night temperatures in the low desert.

As for peyote and other mind-altering drugs including what is now legal in Colorado - - I have never once in my life tried any of them and have no plans to do so.

Your connection between the words "high" and "desert" and relating them to peyote are entertaining, however, and for that I thank you. Cool

I agree, but you can tell between a 1200 and an 800.

Good point, I was puzzled also, but now it makes sense, and it also makes me wonder... why is zborg fixated on "high" and peyote.... hmmmm is it not true the one that does not trust others cannot be trusted ?

LOL, I've only bee playing here a week and I already got my first accusation of cheating:"block this ugly b*****d he is using chess machine f*** u a*****e". Are there really 1189 players here who cheat so they can beat a 1042? Boy, the trash talk must get really vicious out here once you reach a near-master rating like 1500 or 1600.

I'm laughing so much right now. Boy I wish I was a master! My USCF is 1711 and I'm just a good blitz player for my rating, but no master I know has a blitz rating below 2000. The trash talk does get vicious and people are rude and quite often resort to cheating accusations to make themselves feel better. I once had a person tell me I was in a theoretical line of the dragon that lost a pawn and he/she ended up down a piece. They then resorted to a stream of vulgar profanity and accusations. The internet is not a place for nice/normal people anymore. Frown
