Ruy Lopez for white, and some Pirc-Caro-Kann-thing for black

My favorites with white for years has been Spanish (=Ruy Lopez) and Sicilian, of those two Spanish is number 1. My favorites with black for years has been Caro-Kann and Sicilian with Caro-Kann as number 1 and if white started with d4 then Kings Indian Defence and lately Modern Benoni. Well, has been I said, they still are, but I frequently try out other openings and sometimes get hooked with that opening. With white I can get really hooked on King's Gambit and with black Dutch.
I also play other openings now and then, but my favorites as mentioned above remains favorites, I tend to play Modern Benoni more often than Kings Indian Defence, so it has become my favorite answer to white 1.d4 along with 1...c6 inviting white to play Caro-Kann or if not then it will often turn into Slav Defence (1.d4 c6 2. c4 d5 instead of 1.d4 d5 2. c4 c6).
