It's an interesting one to analyze as well.

Fischer's 14. Nxc5 has mind-blowing possibilities.  Sillar's 15...Bxh1 looks like a mistake to me.  f7xN seems better.

It did to me as well.  fxe6 has the hidden bishop check problem, but I'm not sure why Qe5+ doesn't work to clear even the rook from the knight on the back rank if a person doesn't want to open the f file.  Regardless, it was a really nice match.  She really went after him.  The rook capture did seem to take the wind out of her sails though.  Again, nice article.

O.K. So didn't get a notification for this!! Nice read - big thank you.

Great photo - my simuls never looked like that. happy.png Take care, Simaginfan.

I can't help but think how they're all going to get the corona virus

On April 12 during this same simul tour, Fischer gave a 50 board exhibition at at the Knickerbocker Hotel  in Hollywood. The event was sponsored by the Steiner Chess Club.  Fischer He won 47, lost 1 and drew 2.  The image below is from that event:

And here is Fischer's only loss in that event:

Allow me to add another game from that event--one of the two draws (vs A. Sacks):

Nice game!   Needless to say, Andrew Sacks played pretty well.

According to Donaldson, Sacks missed a win with his 40th move, Kf8.  Bxh4 is the move (not surprised he missed it); if 41. Kxh4 then Qh2+.  If 41. R3g2, Bf2; or 41. R1g2, Qf1; 42. Kxh4, Qh1+.  I would liked to have seen the look on Bobby's face when Sacks played 35.....Rc3.  It's a shame there's no picture of that.

Well they both had their disadvantages... Sacks was, well playing Fischer.  and Fischer was basically giving simul time-odds.

Yeah, after move 35 I'll bet Fischer was stepping up the pace to get back to this game as quick as possible.  There wouldn't be that many people left, so pulling out a shot like that that late in the game--and against Bobby--took some courage.
