fIn three minute chess I have come accross the classic;'Fred' oppening a couple of times, my knowledge of the theory goes only thus far:

 

 

 

I wonder, is this a total loss for black?  It gets pretty suspect pretty fast when I've played it against friends,but I was just wondering if we had any fred players who'd like to stand up and defend it?!?

I think the main line is e4 f5 exf5 kf7! Blacks position is not as bad as it looks but white is a pawn up for absolutely no compensation and white should definitely win.

Ah the old Fred expert has returned!

I think, on move 7. instead of QXQ , PG7+ might be a bit better of white.

obviosly the fred is one of the worst openings in the history of chess.
