Hi Paul,
I am an adult player learning chess. My son is a under 9 player who is currently with a FIDE rating of 1400 . We would both appreciate if you could help us improve our chess. I am aware this is belated response to your offer. I hope this message reaches you and will be very happy to hear from you.
Many thanks.

So if you want coaching via skype or messenger let me know! I can observe while you play games here on chess.com and give you feedback during your play and also give you advice on many other things, (openings and tactics etc.) - doesn't it violate fair play policy?

I don't think so because I don't tell a player what to do BEFORE they make a move. I only discuss a move AFTER it has been made. But I could be wrong.

Anyway, this is only a small part of my coaching and I have actually changed my approach to this. Now I actually just observe the game and only discuss the game AFTER the game is completed.

it's against chess.com's policy to talk about it game before it has been finished

Nothing is free. Everything comes with a price, whether it’s time, money, or energy.

It's pretty interesting to coach people on skype. What happens if they are better than you (like me)

Haha. Well first of all, my highest blitz rating is higher than your highest. So I wouldn't agree that you are better than me. Would Carlsen ask an average grand master to be his coach? No, so the only reason you are here is because you wanted to say that you are better than me. But you know what? If you want so recognition then let me give it to you heavyduty.

You are a very good player! Very talented! Good luck and all the best to you! happy.png

He's in punching range of you. If you 2 were to play right now and he beats you then you would look silly saying your better. In a decent length match you'd win  but 1-2 games you might get caught

Canadian ratings are grossly overrated right?
