Fritz 19 won't load the main opening tree

This message is for everyone who has Fritz 19, the chess playing software by Chessbase.

Everytime I load Fritz 19 in classical mode, it loads the Personality-All Around opening tree no matter what.

It is apparently supposed to load the main opening tree Fritz 19.ctg when you start in Classical Mode, and only use the Personality Books in Easy game mode, but it doesn't do that.

Even if I uninstall the program, and reinstall, it loads that opening book on start up.

If I manually load the Fritz19.ctg opening tree, the next time I start the program it still loads Personality-All Around no matter what. So this means everytime I run the program I have to reload the opening tree each and everytime, which is obviously inconvenient and annoying.

Does anyone have this issue, and do you know how to fix it?

I'll look into this.

Lately I've been creating new opening books for Fritz20. I create a PGN Database from games already in the Databse25 that comes with Frtiz20 (or from my own PGN files). Then go to main menu and create a new book in .ctg format.

I know what you are asking above, as the offered players in easy mode (animals and now a robot and 5 GM's in Fritz20) plug in their own opening tree each time you create a game. If you close their book to open your new one, it reverts back to their original one once leaving that screen or booting a new personality. It seems like an .ini command file recognition issue. Maybe need to go into that file (somewhere) and assign a new opening book or tree for that personality. Though you my not want to change that as it is appropriate for that player.

Side note. If you like Fritz 19 you're really going to like Fritz 20. The robot function is really cool as I'm discovering it offers endless range of styles beyond those archetypes they have in the 6 animals' styles. Now I only wish I could save the robots settings and give it a name. I can't see a way to do that. Each time you play the robot at least it does save your last settings for it. This is where what you are asking above could really be cool as if you create a Kasparov style player with the robot, you can create and attach a Kasparov opening book from the database you created and assign it to that personality. Then it would really be Chessmaster PC game like with the great features of Fritz.

I am hesitant to buy Fritz 20 if this opening tree bug has not been fixed.

I have also had trouble with the personalities not playing very good moves even when put on higher levels such as Strong Club Player. In one game, they even missed a mate in one, and in another the Bull lost his queen on purpose basically.

So if you play an Easy Game in Fritz 20, and then later load the Classical Mode, what opening tree does it load? Does it load the personality tree, or the Fritz20.ctg tree?

Thanks for the help.
