Someone in a previous thread wrote that the surest way to make progress in chess is to identify your weakest area, work on it until you've made progress and then identify your next area.  As a diamond member, you have access to ChessMentor and the videos, so why not start working on the King's Indian defense since you have identified it as a weakness.  There is a 40 lesson course in CM, and 4 videos that address that very subject.  Also Erik has been teasing us for about a month now with his promise of study guides to best utilize the site's resources.  Bound to be a great help.

CM helps in memorizing openings, thats not a problem for me, I can handle book moves in caro-kann, French, two knight and even in Indian. The problem is playing after book moves in KID, QID etc.

To answer to my own question, I found this bit more helpful when it comes beyond book moves...

etc.

Go to home page to empower your weakest openings.

I've fluctuated between 1700-2080 and manged to level at 2000 for almost a year, and my USCF was 1980, but I havent been able to get to 2100. That's the hardest stump to get over.

You are much much senior than me, so first let me reach 2080 before I bother for 2100   Edit: And is not 6 yrs time will be sufficient to pass any plateau/s I encounter.

Suggestions to study tactics are correct, but maybe not enough to get to master level. Nobody can prescribe the exact course of books you should digest unless they know your weaknesses...so you need a coach, or you need to be very good at studying your games and recognizing your mistakes. Yermolinsky wrote a good book on this topic called "Road to Chess Improvement," but it's farily advanced. Since you're reading Silman, I might recommend two of his other books, "Reassess Your Chess," and his "Endgame Course."

PS, I'm not a Master, but I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night (American advertisement joke).
