I have heard a similar story about Kasparov who was playing a simul against some American college team or some such. One of the students had white and forced a known repetition after maybe 10-15 moves. Kasparov told him something along the lines of 'you had the chance to play against the world champion and you wasted it.'
Funny Viktor Korchnoi story

I wasn’t there the day this happened but my teacher told me this story about Viktor Korchnoi that I found...well see for yourself.
If I tell you Montreal, Canada. Not a particularly big chess city. BUT, in 2004 THE Viktor Korchnoi comes to Montreal to play in our biggest tournament of the year (COQ). Not only that, it’s a very long tournament (9 rounds) so he decides to even stay for the blitz and agrees to give a simultaneous exhibition (simul).
IN THE SIMUL...
So, he play you know 20-30 chess players from citizen level to Expert level (and even a couple 2100s why not) at the very same time between the break in the tournament.
Play starts, and little by little the children and weaker players resign the game or play till checkmate. No big effort spend on Korchnoi’s side. Some players leave and now we are at about half of what we started with, nothing crazy so far.
Time passes and even the stronger players challenging Viktor Korchnoi to the simul are dying out, leaving only 1 player: A 1700 who has a solid game, closing the position and aiming for a quiet draw.
Now, you must know, Mr. Korchnoi is like 29-0 right now and could budge for a draw right now but is giving this game his almighty. Within minutes, Korchnoi roars to his opponent: “WHY ARE YOU PLAYING FOR THE DRAW, THIS IS NOT WHAT CHESS IS ABOUT! YOU’RE MAKING IT THE MOST BORING GAME EVER. PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOULD NOT PLAY CHESS!!!”
Poor kid, (got the draw) was crying (he’s a teenagers/adult) and legend says he ran out of the room (being humiliated) and peed his pants.
I love Korchnoi 😎

Hmm, I found another site where someone said he gave up 5 draws that day and didn't mention this tale.

That guy said he lost in 19 moves, he may have left after he lost... what happened was at the end of the simul...
I’m not claiming to know everything from start to finish also, just passing on a tale that was told to me.
Kind Regards,
Zach

I laughed so hard at this. I'm a teenager so I feel his pain but yeah, it was so funny.
