I've seen it, the knight promotion was to deliver mate instantly as the knight put the king in check and he had nowhere to go, had he promoted to a queen there would have been mate in a few moves. I'm not sure but I think I found it searching on You Tube or Metacafe for videos on opening traps. Clearly its not an opening trap so it should stand out if it comes up.

It sounds like a joke but it's a real game.
White promotes a black knight to block other black pieces and checkmate.
