Game analysis software.........

Hello,

I wondered please if I could ask for some advice from the knowledgeable people of chess.com?

i have been having chess tutoring and I am trying to work through some GM games, however when I load in the PGN for these games I am trying to anticipate what the next move will be.

My question is, is there any software out there that will allow me to show only one side move, this will allow me not to see the next move whilst I work through the the move options.

I hope my question makes sense on what I am trying to achieve.

Many thanks in advance.

Regards,

So you just want to not see the next move? You didn't say what GUI you're using presently, but there may be a number of GUIs that would work. For example, Scid vs. PC can do that by activating the option "Options --> Game Information --> Hide Next Move". (You may also want to close the PGN window.)

Thanks very much for your reply,

What I an trying to achieve is to take the place of Black or White in games so for instance if I am Black I can see Whites moves but not Black, while I analyse the different options for Black, then Id like to be able to see what Black actually played before I see Whites next move and so on.

Currently I do not have a GUI so I'm looking for something that can help me with this for my studying, I will look into your suggestion, many thanks again.
