sorry about all these question, i have never done this before

1.how come when i play on a computer, i seem to do worse, i have gone agains some people on here OTB and beat them, yet i get crushed on here.  (no way im rated u1000 when i regulally beat or draw  1400-1600 players)

2.Is scholastic chess tournaments rated?  how are they set up?

3.Would you recomend a fischer clock? I just have an anologe one,

4.how and what does it mean to analyze games.  how do you do it.

5. im a freshmen, and i like i said, i beath 1400-1600 ppl, so i estimate my rating to be around that.  How do i improve?

6.this one requires some info.  I have duel citizenship with USA and Peru.  I was born in the US, and live in the US for all my life, however i didnt speak english flently until i was 7 or 8.  spanish was my first language, thus most of my ties were culturally to peru.  I would like to represent them in FIDE, but would also like to compete in USCF, is it possible to represent Peru and the US??? is it possible to even represent Peru in Fide while playing in USCF.  and will this effect tournaments?

sorry about all the questions
THANKS!

I do not know about a "fischer" clock, but, if you are serious about chess, you will probably eventually want to own your own digital clock, capable of delay time controls.

I think everybody has that problem at first because computers never miss tactics, at least not any that are within their search depth, whereas low-rated humans very frequently miss tactics. Therefore you're most likely losing because you need to develop your tactical awareness and ability; you've been playing humans too much and picked up their bad habits.

You can either do it by computer, such as the one on this site, or do it yourself. Computers will catch tactics that humans are likely to miss, but computers can't describe plans, strategies, generalities, inconsistencies, etc.

For several hundred answers to this, search the General Chess Questions forum under "improve", "get better", and similar terms. The way I see it, chess involves several skills, so it's largely a matter of investing time and money, developing a strategy of which topics are how important and which should be learned when, especially into the areas of tactics, visualization, openings, endings, middle games, analysis, practical experience, going over master games, etc.

When I play engines (rated class b) I find the only way to win is to grind it out and play solid. Try and do things like attack two weaknesses at once, or pile up on loose pieces or pawns. I've never had a decisive win against a computer, only close wins where I'm up a pawn or something. Sacs and tactics only work when there's nothing it can do about it, otherwise it will out calculate you every time. Remember if you beat an engine one time out of every twenty games, you have succeeded.

Fischer clock is a clock with an increment. It doesn't really need recommending, it's the standard official clock.
