Notebook for Chessbase

I am also thinking about getting some sort of portable device like a notebook for using ChessBase on the go.

I don't have any specific recommendation, but my research led me to this forum post, which suggests that the Surface Pro would be an ideal candidate. The post is from a couple of years ago, but should still be relevant. I quote:

"...Surface Pro 4 with an i5 processor, 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB hard drive.

I am using CB13, Fritz13 and I am watching the usual Chessbase DVDs.

Bottom line, everything works like a charm, and I am happy with the performance."

So, I think it's reasonable to assume that the New Surface Pro would do the job. Of course, there are cheaper alternatives, but at least we can say that a device like this should work.

Please report back to us your experience once you do decide to make a purchase! I'd love to hear how it goes as I'm eager to do the same.
