It has been tried in several events before. I don't like it though.

@0092678 in football (soccer), when you play a league, you award winning team with 3 points, losing team with 0 points, and in case of a draw, both teams are awarded 1 point - meaning 1 point is "lost" in the process. Therefore, a win and a loss is worth more thant two draws. The idea is that introducing similar rules in chess would maybe encourage players to fight for a win more stubbornly.
I'm not saying that it is what I would do if I were in charge - it's just an idea, and I'd like to see what other people think about that.
