better to solve it in any time than to cry after. chess is not random game. this one was a strong tactic, with unexpected final. liked it.
As long as chess is played between two people it certainly is random. If the goal is to solve the tactic only, then I agree it doesn't matter how long it takes. But if the goal is to apply the lessons of tactic trainer to real games, then time does matter. I think it's better to guess than spend 48 minutes to figure out a few moves. Because what would happen in my case is I would spend 48 minutes figuring out a great tactic, only to then lose the game by making silly mistakes because I ran out of time.
