I've seen some clever ones in the past that I no longer remember, but the one that sticks in my mind is the Alekhine Batteries.

we had a park team called the Deperados ,back in the early 90s ,playing off season 5 min blitz otb tournaments vs all the serious chess guys ,with their city names or so , when you beat them ,they usually gone : " i play this league and my rating is around ,which league you guys playing - me was :" i just play in the park . was fun to watch them after that quote

I really enjoyed hearing some of these funny names. In fact, I sat down for about an hour last night just to think of some funny team names I could add
