Grand Prix Idea (encouraging better play and point rewards)

I am watching the Women's Grand Prix now waiting to see what Goryachkina is going to do with her rook on the d file, and I turned to the Harika A Muzychuk game and they just swapped off all pieces like they were coronavirus face masks.

I thought maybe Harika is going to play Sebag or even Ju Wenjun in a later round but I don't see the pairings list. They only show Nana, but no pairings on the "official website".

Then I looked at the standings and noticed Harika won't be playing in the next GP tournament. There is no way she is going to get enough points to win the Grand Prix series. So, what motivates her or anyone else below her to give a darn in these last rounds with no real reward? Obviously Ju Wenjun doesn't care, she is the champion. Why she is even playing in the Grand Prix is ludicrous.

What if players got a chance to get a bunch of points at different rounds? You would randomly select rounds (more pruning ideas could be established but I will shorten this post to get to the point). In the random round, certain players or just one player would have a chance to earn double the points if they win that day's game. Kind of like a daily double on Jeopardy. You just wouldn't gamble your points.

You would give every player this opportunity throughout the Grand Prix tournaments. So, in this case, if this was Harika's day to get double the points she would be more inclined to keep pieces on the board to play for a win. Also, if she won, she would get more points in the series standings and keep the fight alive for the top spot in the standings.

Koneru Humpy has 293 and one more tournament to play. 5 others look within range. Then you have 10 players below 100 points. It doesn't seem like there is much use in showing up in Sardinia.
