Guess My Rating

Here a G30 tournament game I just played. I'm Black. Look at the game and guess what my rating (uscf) of the two players are! See how close you can get!

I tried to cheat and went to look up your rating on USCF and I couldn't find you.

Guess your rating by looking at a game you didn't participate in?

Interesting game.  I'll guess 1550-1650.  After 25...Kf6 looks like Nce5 wins :)

You seem to be 1800-1900 and your opponent the same between 1850-1950

So, go ahead and give your rating...

Some shuffling then a tactic isn't really a full game. This isn't a good game to guess with. Neither side showed they had a plan, so 1600 doesn't seem like a bad guess. It could be as low as 1300 though I think.

Bxg6 is a nice resource, but I was playing moves like that at ratings lower than 1300 (not knowing if they worked or not of course, I was just doing it anyway). So white could have easily found the draw out of desperation.

What makes you think anybody is really interested?

Wow guys...  You should know that white was rated 2071, and black 1900.  Guess they had an off day if they only played like 1600 strength!

If that was a slow game I think both around 1500-1600. black left king a bit weak I think white played a few moves without clear plan like qb3-nc4 instead on  increasing pressure on black king(g6 square) with ne4 or nh4  or  plan on gaining space on queen side pawns a4-c4-b4. But I don't know just first impression.

Black's move 8 isn't so bad necessarily, but then move 9 as a followup is silly.

Now here come black's moves 10, 11, and 12. I guess black is thinking he wants to play e5? But even if white decides to help him e.g. 13.Bg3 Nxg3 14.hxg3 black doesn't want to play e5 here.

And then black's moves 13 and 15 are odd / bad.

1900 huh? Gives me lots of hope for 2200. Too bad they don't always play like this.
