Hadn't played against a Polish Opening before. Is this normally how the game goes?

Interesting. I wasn't sure what to do with it so I tried to play the equivalent of e4 (my white opening). 8. Qa4 surprised me and looked wrong but I didn't see a better response and then I kind of stumbled upon the Knight/Bishop mate which I was super happy with. All I was thinking with Nf4 was that I could trade the Night for a Bishop or win the pawn. happy.png

Yeah, unfortunately while I can at least usually recognize things like moving the Queen to much/lack of other development I often don't have the concentration or quite frankly patience to find the best way to "punish" the error.

This is probably a dumb question but I haven't posted a game before; how do I add annotation?

Ok, I liked how his Queen was mostly irrelevant off in the corner; it was just inconvenient having that Knight pinned and constantly having to defend it. I kept looking for a way to trap and then capture the queen.

d6?? Bxb4 is the main move. Bxb4 Bxe5, Nf6 and later Nc6 is with tempo.

Why the double question mark to d6? There's nothing wrong with d6. Sure, Bxb4 is the main move. But when your opponent knows his stuff the Polish can be pretty annoying to play against. I myself choose to play a less frequent response to the Polish as well. I don't feel at home in the main line. Anyway, i liked how you handled the opening and your play in general!
