Hello! A small question.

Hey, former primary school champion here, please queue for autographs, recently returning to the game and filling my time with study! I find books on chess quite difficult to visualize after having read a few without board pictures and just moves listed, I want to know if there is any good chess training software (apart from what's available on the site) so I can improve my game. In the analysis section, it's all very well to know my blunders as they are obvious but not so easy to know why a certain move was better than another. Is there any training software which says e.g Nf6 was better BECAUSE of the following _________? Thanks in advance for your help.

krudsparov

Check out youtube, there's loads of free lessons on there.

Chesstempo's standard tactics, mixed tactics, and endgame exercises I've found extremely helpful

I'm watching a lot ATM Krudsparov, are there any channels in particular that you'd recommend/you benefited from? Thanks Robert I will check that out now!

what your looking for josh (I think) is FritzTrainer lessons.  there are a dizzying amount of them.  as an example:

http://shop.chessbase.com/en/products/mohota_strengthen_your_chess_foundation?Ref=RF70-5OH0EFN840

I can't comment on any of them.  I would presume that they are similar in the way they work then the chessMentor lessons on this website....

web14

i recommend two youtube channels

1. GM Huschenbeth

2. Howcast

i have found their videos very educational and easy to understand
