I was playing with my friend, and I moved my pawn to a5. Her pawn was on b5 and then she took it??? She ended up on a6. Can someone tell me if this is a legal move?

It's a legal move called capturing en passant.

So many people asking this... 🤔.

It is one of the first things I learned. First how to move the pieces. Then en passant and castle and promoting.
