Help for a beginner trying to use Fritz 11

I’ve played chess all my life, but never very seriously.  I recently decided to step my game up and purchased Fritz 11 to help me accomplish this goal.  Unfortunately, I have little clue as to how to use the functions beyond playing a game, watching some videos (which are very helpful so far), and watch previous games.  I’m most interested in learning how to use the analysis functions (e.g., what exactly is a blunder and how do I use this function).  The booklet I has only very basic descriptions of the function, but it seems that I may need some even more basic help.  I can get the program to provide me with some sort of information (e.g., variations on moves), but I’m just not figuring out how to interpret them.  I’m really hoping that this is due to my lack of experience and not the copy I purchased on eBay.

So, my question is, are there any good free online resources for understanding, from pretty much a beginner’s perspective, how to use and understand this program and its functions?  And perhaps some resources to understand some more basic concepts like what a blunder is and what makes something a tactical move.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat as you and my best advice to you is... find someone who knows how to use it.

That stuff is like learning new language...
Rosetta Stone- Fritz edition! Please!? Wink

You can try the Chessbase site -  http://www.chessbase.com/download/index.asp  - as you might find some answers for your questions!

Probably, the Help menu when the program is running is the best source of information for you.

And there is always YouTube... Cool

I hope I have helped you a bit!

Thanks, Tonico.  I've tried YouTube, but can't seem to find much.  I'll take a look at the website and help menu!
