Is it better to play fast or slow pace games to improve. I've heard support from both.
Your forum title is not very descriptive of what you are looking for. You might want to edit it to something like "Does fast chess or slow chess help a player progress more?"
And then define what you mean by fast and slow. You play 90% of your games here at a 15 10 standard chess pace. Do you consider that to be a slow pace? Many people wouldn't but you are allowed to give your opinion.
I learned more by playing slow chess, games with a pace of 40 moves in 90 minutes and sometimes even longer. 40 moves in two hours was common for big tournaments. That's time to really chew on your moves. At the time, I was also reading many chess books and taking lessons. I didn't like playing rapid chess tournaments then with speedy time controls like 40 moves in an hour. (As you can see, you have to define your terms.)
I think most people believe whether you play fast or slow, the most valuable work you do is after you play a game, looking to see where you made mistakes, how far you got in an opening, etc. Do you do that with your games? None of your previous threads do this at all.
