Hey everyone! Making a website on chess for a school project and I would love to hear your thoughts!

So I am making a website with lots of information on any opening, with main lines, tricks and traps, counters, a bunch of useful links and guides from high rated players and more resources to continue to study the opening afterwards. Learning an opening straight away normally isn't a great idea, but I think investing into 1 or 2 openings for white and black, and then learning to play them completely is a great way to climb. I would love any suggestions for openings or things to include and change or any criticism you can offer. Any and all feedback is much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not too good at chess but I would definitely check something like that out!

As with any school project, you should narrow your focus. There’s no way you’ll be able to assemble all the information you have listed before you graduate college (assuming you are presently in middle school).

Maybe choose one opening. Offer some basic theory and a bunch of games, including a healthy selection of miniatures.

Don't worrry about this, because this is a semester long project and I have plenty of time to compile information. But thanks for your feedback!

I'm not worried. I've been teaching 40 years. I know a project that cannot succeed when I see one.

Projects that are too large and unfocused are common at all levels of school from elementary through graduate school. Those with stronger subject knowledge err less, of course. The more one understands about a subject, the greater awareness they have of how little they actually know. That awareness helps students narrow their focus to something manageble.
