HOW CAN I HONESTLY IMPROVE IN CHESS

Hello everyone I have been reading through many related posts and would like some insights regarding the games and how i have been playing and how to improve

I reached 1000+ Elo for the first time after 3 months (Learned chess here from scratch the same time). Normally I work in shifts of 28/28 days and Would like to ask how I can improve from 1000 to 1500 and from there to 2000 Rapid Rating.

I have tried to pay for some teaching but GMs are like 50-80$/ hour.

How long would take to get to 2000?

And most important, How can I get better?

Thanks all...

It took me about 1.5 years to go from 1400 to 2000, but it can be done faster if you put more time in. Before that i didn't really play chess with the intent of improving so it took me 8 years to get to 1400.

right now you don't need a coach to be a GM, anyone above 2000 will give you mostly the same information, you really only need to get a stronger coach when you get near their skill level. My coach is a FM and we have agreed to 20 euros per hour, so it is much more affordable than a 50$/h GM.

As for improving, you need to work on everything: tactical awareness, tactics, hanging pieces, evaluating the position. I can take a look at your games later, but right now im busy with schoolwork.

Its a very thoughtful question, to get better you must remember the mistakes you made and try not repeating them. For instance if you lose a piece in opening, or a pawn in tactics, you should never repeat that.

Secondly, there is no proper time limit, if you learn concepts in depth and like really notice how ypu lost the game 1500 rapid isnt far at all. I am not fide rated but I do offer lessons, I taught a kid who was 14, from 700 to 1200 in a month.  I suggest you to play less of blitz or bullet (if you do) and Goodluck!

Just saying, you can get a very good coach for like 20-30 dollars an hour

We all have our own lives and circumstances. I say do your best and don't worry about the rest. You may or may not reach your goals. That's not as important. What's important is that you gave it your best shot. And you can have some fun along the way. You can play some games, make some good moves. Think of chess as a life-long project. Play slower games, use chess.com's resources as well as YouTube and books. Organize your studies, create a plan that works for you and stick to it. Work, multiplied by time, will yield progress. Don't be too hard on yourself. Enjoy life and chess.

Coaching at 1200 isnt necessary. You just need to gain your game experience and watch high level games and learn from your mistakes.

Hi all thanks for your feedback, I am currently doing my best to improve, not there yet but time will tell.
Thanks for your ideas.
After playing for a while and stop blundering I made it to 1600s, still on the road for 2000s

Just take your time and don't be that player that's trades his queen for a pawn
