Hi everyone,
I feel like I’ve hit a plateau in my chess improvement lately. Despite playing regularly and watching a few videos, my rating seems stuck. I’m sure many of you have faced this at some point.
So I wanted to ask:
What specifically helped you break past your rating plateau?
Was it:
Focusing on tactics?
Studying specific openings?
Playing longer time controls?
Getting a coach or analyzing your games deeply?
Would love to hear what made the biggest difference for you — whether you were stuck at 800, 1200, or even higher. Your experience might help me (and others) push through.
Thanks in advance!
