How do I challenge a friend

I’m trying to play a friend who started a brand new account on Chess.com. When I try to challenge them to a 1 day game, it says “sorry your current rating is too low to challenge this user.” This is on an unrated game. What setting does my friend have to change so that this does not occur? Thanks.

in live chess, you can change your setting one of which is incoming challenges, change it to the rating range you are in.
