I understand how you feel. I've been (still am) in your shoes.

Learn strategy, long term decision making etc.

Learn about weaknesses and positional play.

Don't spend too much timd memorising openings. Understand the principles of opening and learn the ideas behind openings.

Analyze your games and determine the reason you are losing. Correct your malfunctions.

It also helps to play games with long time control in order to thoroughly be able to think out plans, tactics, and strategy. Longer time controls generally lead to better quality games by both sides, which will deeply help your game. After each game, analyze it and see what could have gone better.

First of all work on your thought process, Heisman's Improving Chess Thinker demonstrates the differences between the various class ranks, and even between expert and master (masters are like experts but memorize far more positions, which is useful for recall).  Find one aspect and work it exclusively for a month, and then that skill becomes automated.

Now I'm doing basic endgames, and before I did strategy and whole game exercises to exercise thought process.  It's supposed to simulate a real game situation.  I've done that for a few months so I've probably hit a diminishing return wall so I'm doing endgames to balance out my skillset.

Try playing fewer games against higher rated opponents.

Wow, your rating went up more than 600 points in just 2 months! What did you do???

The easier way is to use engines. The harder way is well, it takes some time.

There is no way he can reach 1600 on this site with only tactics.

I think blitz and bullets are just for fun. They are more about time management and not real chess. Surprisingly, I notice that your online (correspondence) games rating is only 900-ish.
