A computer cannot really determine your "real rating".
Live games are not determined by "how much you win", its by taking the rating of your opponent and your rating and the result of the match to determine if your rating goes up or down.

Okay, I get that my rating will be based on the ratings of my opponents and the results of the games. Does this include "Daily Chess" since right now I am playing a 3 day per move game? I am not sure if I understand shivam2627 comment. Does he suggest I can play computer games where the computer itself is rated? It would make sense to me that a computer set at any level would get it's own rating as it plays games against rated opponents and if you can more often than not beat a program rated 1200 for example, you could figure your own rating is somewhat above that. However, the computer here does not seem to have ratings listed for the various levels.
all games change rating based on glicko. If you want rated comps you go to live chess -> play a computer.
Thanks SNUDOO! I looked up glicko, but it has been a while since I've done that type of math, so I really could not follow the formula. I also went to live chess->play a computer as you suggested. I chose one rated over 1200 to see how I would do. My first game started well, but I was moving too rapidly, when the computer is almost instantaneous you feel like responding quick as well, and I made a blunder. Even worse in game two against the same computer! So after a break I played it again and won easy and the same with a 4th game! So now I have a rapid (Actually chose the one hour game) chess rating of 1299 and I am sure I can beat a higher rated computer if I take my time! Computers are unforgiving of mistakes, but can often blunder themselves! I'm not sure how my rating will hold up against human players, time will tell!
I'm new here and because I selected that I was a decent beginning player my rating is listed at 1200. But, although I am experienced at the game and can do well at analysis I still make some blunders and definitely need to learn the openings. So it may be my rating really should be lower. I have not played many games here yet, I feel I should study more before playing real opponents since I usually lose. If I play more live games will a rating be determined by how often I win? I have also used the computer chess. So far it has not beaten me and I advance a level each time I win, so far I have advanced several levels. But the computer seems to make very obvious blunders so I don't feel I am winning by superior tactics. I also have downloaded ARENA to play against and also have a computer chess board. Can a computer determine my real rating?
