thats not a good idea that's a problem
How do people prevent themselves from getting distracted in long time controls

its not the rating, like i said, people my rating usually bore me and the higher rated mostly do not so even if i didn't knew the rating, id still get irritated

Also, try focus mode. It might help you stay focused
I do use focus mode mostly, thing is i dont focus on the rating, i focus on the board and they downright irritate me

if youre not driven to win enough to stay focused through one long game thats a serious issue

what are your long term chess goals? envisioning that one win is a step closer to whatever goal you have helps me

eating while or before playing chess is a really bad idea btw, blood flows from your brain to your stomach to help it digest so your thinking skills wont be the same

Every time i hear this excuse "They play boring..." it always comes down to they are playing the rating. Casting all that aside...You're no where near good enough to be telling others they are boring.

relatively and so that i have enough time to stray off yes
I play 90/30 OTB. Last game I played lasted for 4 hours. Sometimes I even forget to go and make a pee. Really, I don't know how to help you.

it's sometimes happened with 1450's too, i got bored and they won
I really like chess, and i think the main reason why i win against a lot of my high rated friends and lose to my 1200 ones is because the 1200 ones are boring, they play poorly enough for me to lost my interest in the game and wander off and they get a huge window of opportunity. as for my 1500-2500 rated people i go all in since i know they won't bore but and it'll be challenging to last a few moves, so anybody got any tips on how not to wander off or sumthin to help?
I've thought of playing 5|0 instead of 10|0 so that i dont have any time to wander off or i get flagged, but the "Or i get flagged" is the exact part why i don't play 5|0, cuz 10|0 makes it harder for me and my opponent to flag each other, so smaller time control has been ticked out... i'd really appreciate anybodys help /puppyeyes
