I'm looking at the various Tactics puzzles, and I've noticed that they're individually rated. I've also noticed that I have a Tactics rating. How do they work?
I'm assuming that the ratings of each of the puzzles is dynamic, based on the ratings of everyone that tries the puzzle. Is this correct? If everyone fails at a puzzle, the rating will go up. And if everyone wins at a puzzle, the rating will go down.
Now for the individual rating. It looks like it is affected by the first time you attempt the puzzle AND how long it takes you. If you get it wrong, getting it right on second try doesn't reduce the point loss.
Am I correct in these assumptions? Or do they work differently than I thought?
It's correct but if you do enough tactics, some problems will pop up again.
Some people have the whole set of 40,000+ problems memorized.
