Mathematically...just change the base. Base 4 works, base 2 and 3 don't (no "3"s). By the time you get to Base 8 I'm not sure of the conversion (e.g., what is 2000 in base 10 versus base 8)...and too lazy to work it out. Base 16 (hexadecimal) would probably make it impossible for even Hikaru to get as high as 2300...and their would frequently be odd symbols involved such as A thru E.

Random moment...I'm going to combine my two previous comments and go sideways from there.

I just checked it with Google. If your blitz rating is showing on chess.com as 500 (they use Base 10, as any sane human does), that converts to a blitz rating of 13,310 in Base 4. Woohoo!!

So referring to one of my earlier comments...if your blitz rating is 13,310 in base 4, then you would have to LOSE a lot of rating points to break 2,300 (i.e., losing points). [For completeness (in insanity?) a base 4 rating of 179 equals a base 10 rating of 2303...so sayeth the Goooooooogle, so let it be.]

I mean, you’re not wrong

It’s more difficult these days, after introduction of the leagues. But, for me took around one year to go from 2200 to 2300. I mean staying there comfortably not just hitting. I also hit 2400 but I wasn’t there comfortably. Before advent if leagues I was usually 2350+ but now I’m usually just 2300+ and I play very little.

To reach it, I’ve noticed that only playing doesn’t help, I had some big weaknesses, e.g. in opening or rook endgames. I fixed some of them, then I had a rocket jump to around 2400 from 2200. still I have some weaknesses, they are a bit deeper, if I fix them I hope I hit 2600, but they are deep and they need real work.

Find your weaknesses, then improve them, you will level up.
