How do you evaluate a chess position?
you probably already know this, but to help out other players that may not, 1) take a count of pawns and pieces. if you are down material be cautious about initiating trades. if you are up material, you can be more daring because at worse you are giving back material as an investment for something better. if you are even stay even, unless you have opportunities. 2) compare king safety and act accordingly. 3) whose move is it? engage in forcing moves if possible or queit moves as needed.
Like positional and tactical stuff that one must compute when analysing a chess position?
