How do you turn a chess engine OFF?

I have the app "Smartchess" for my iPad. It is wonderful and I use it with Chernev's Logical chess ... However you can only play one game at a time. I have a lot of chess apps on my iPad including Fritz (iPhone), Heircs, Shredder and others. How do I turn the engine off so I can use it to follow along with Seirawan's books? Or how do I use the chess.com's app without an engine? I hate having to get out a chessboard. Stwils

This one (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/cbase-chess/id386254532?mt=8) is cute for storing games on iPhone. tChess also has some nice qualities, I have heard.

But I don't want to store entire games. (I like the app you suggested.) I just want to use it to follow along with some of YS 's examples.

I suppose you can enter the games move by move using the apps? The CBase author is a chesscom member, I think?

I'll try that.

Nothing seems to work except smart chess. I want to use it for fragments of games in books like My System.

Usually I try turning the key to the off position, but if that doesn't work I wait for it to run out of gas.
